Washington Square Association features local creative talent with a new lecture series on contemporary arts.
Oskar Eustis speaks about creative theater
The Washington Square Association is pleased to launch a lecture series on contemporary arts in and around
Washington Square. The first program will focus on the exciting world of theater. Oskar Eustis, the acclaimed artistic director of The Public Theater, will speak about the enduring legacy of Joe Papp and the inspiration and support The Public Theater continues to provide for up-and-coming talent.
The lectures are curated by Elizabeth Butson, former publisher of The Villager Newspaper.
Thursday, November 21 st at 6:30 pm at the Iris &B. Gerald Cantor Film Center of
New York University at 36 East 8 th Street.
Tickets $5 for students and $20 for general admission.

Proceeds from ticket sales will support the development of new work by emerging playwrights at The Public Theater.
The Washington Square Association, founded in 1906, is the oldest civic neighborhood organization in the city. Every year it provides the 35 ft tall Christmas tree under the Arch and organizes the tree lighting and the Christmas eve caroling. The Association supports the Washington Square Music Festival which offers four
