The Washington Square Music Festival Kicks Off June 7th - Free Concerts in the Park!

One of our favorite neighborhood events is the Washington Square Music festival, a series of concerts in Washington Square Park every summer.  We have the proud honor of being the Founding Sponsor of the event series, now in it's 58th year.   The first concert is June 7th at 8pm, repeating weekly for 4 concerts.

There is nothing better than hearing such an adventurous music program expertly conducted on the cool summer nights in our beautiful park.    As always, there will be plenty of seating, picnickers in the nearby grasses and onlookers who stop on their strolls through the park -  all captivated by the sounds of our orchestras.  The upcoming dates are:

June 7th at 8pm: Vivaldi, Nielsen and Brahms

June 14th at 8pm: Mozart, Part and Handel

June 21st at 8pm: Eisler, Taylor and Borodin

June 28th at 8pm: New York Jazzharmonic

Rainspaces are at NYU's Frederick Loewe Theatre at 35 West 4th Street.

We thank everyone in our community who works so hard to put this amazing event on with special thanks to Peggy Friedman, whose tireless leadership as the Executive Producer of the Concerts is unparalleled and to Lutz Rath, the Music Director, who always finds ways to enchant and challenge us with his programs.
